PRINCE2 (Projects In Controlled Environments) is a globally recognised project management methodology. Originating from the UK, it is based on the Managing Successful Projects Using PRINCE2 (by OGC). This project management methodology has gained widespread acceptance. Currently PRINCE2 is used in 29 countries across the globe and many companies adopt PRINCE2 as their group-wide standard for Project Management.
PRINCE2 is a process-based approach to project management that encapsulates best practise and establishes a framework for control within the project environment. This flexible methodology can be tailored to suit the needs, scale and complexity of any project and ensures that a consistent, methodical and controlled approach is adopted for the management of projects.
In gaining recognition as a project management professional, knowledge of methodologies such as PRINCE2 is paramount. The PRINCE2 Foundation Certification forms the basis of the PRINCE accreditation program and it is DDLS’ intention to teach the application of the PRINCE2 components, processes and techniques. In addition DDLS’ goal is for every participant to attain PRINCE2 certification.
