Training Course:Wind Farm Development, Operation and MaintenanceSchool/Trainer:Educational Program Innovations Center Mississauga, ON, Canada
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' Considering that the potential of hydro power is diminishing, nuclear power is very expensive, clean technology for fossil fuels are not yet economic; it is prudent to consider wind energy in the total energy mix. This is evidenced by wind energy’s impressive growth rate of 40% in the world over the last five years. Canada has a tremendous wind resource to generate electric power; we have still only scratched the surface of Canada’s massive wind energy potential. Looking at the aggressive growth of the wind industry in the USA, it can be predicted that the growth rate in Canada will not lag behind. This seminar deals with all aspects of power generation from wind: wind resource assessment, selection of technology, design of the power generation system, turbine installation, financing, system operation and controls, and predictive and preventive maintenance.
Objective To enable participants to determine if a wind farm is viable from the wind resource and financial perspectives, and to design, operate and maintain their wind energy power plants
Who Should Attend Wind farm project developers, power utilities personnel involved in wind farm operations, consulting engineers, constructors, equipment and component vendors, turbine manufacturers, academics, regulatory, legal and insurance personnel as well as operators and maintenance staff of existing plants.
