'' Everyday, we come in contact with potentially hazardous chemicals. Because serious accidents have occurred as the result of improper use of these chemicals, OSHA has implemented the Hazard Communication Standard. The purpose of this law is to inform employees, employers, and the general public about chemical hazards in the workplace. There are six major categories of the Hazard Communication Standard that include Hazard Determination, Chemical Labeling, Material Safety Data Sheets, Employee Training, The Company Written Program, and the Availability of Manufacturer Trade Secrets.This course is designed for all employees.
Objectives: In this course, you will learn the type of information provided on a chemical container label and an MSDS. You will learn how to detect the presence of hazardous chemicals in the work area, what physical hazards can result from hazardous chemicals, how employees can protect themselves from those chemicals and, understand worker responsibilities for container labeling, using the MSDS, and training. ...''
