Course Description:
'' In existence for nearly forty years, the AACSB-accredited ODU MBA Program has been designed to provide a high quality management education enhanced by many unique opportunities for students. The advantages of earning an MBA through Old Dominion University include:
Flexibility Students can work on their MBA full-time or part-time. Classes are offered days, evenings, and weekends at our Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Peninsula Center (Hampton), and Tri-Cities Center (Portsmouth/Suffolk/Chesapeake) locations, and semesters begin every August, January, and May. Our 48-credit hour program can be finished in as little as 18 months, or it can be structured over a greater length of time for working professionals with additional commitments.
Management Skill Development Students have the opportunity to hone their management skills in areas of greatest interest and relevance by taking electives such as ethics, leadership, effective written communications, negotiation, and human resource regulations.
Networking Opportunities The MBA Association, consisting of both students and alumni, provides members with social and educational events every semester. The Economics Club, Propeller Club and Landmark Speaker Series offers opportunities to discuss issues with local, national and international business leaders. The Career Management Center assists students in obtaining internship and full-time positions.
In-Depth Study For students who would like to obtain greater depth in a particular field, we offer concentrations in Financial Analysis & Valuation, International Business, Public Administration, Information Technology, Business & Economic Forecasting, and Maritime & Port Management. Students may also opt to complete their MBA without a concentration, by selecting electives from multiple disciplines to design a program that meets their career needs. Numerous study abroad options are available throughout the world for students interested in gaining a greater global focus in their MBA study. Case studies, lectures, and independent research projects are the major components of an integrated approach to the study of business management and the MBA program at Old Dominion University.
Dynamic Learning Environment The MBA Program on the Norfolk campus is housed in Constant Hall, which has been completely renovated and features state-of-the-art wireless classrooms and executive education facilities.
