Course Description:
'' This program offers a Master of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering (M.S.A.E.) through distance learning via the QUEST (Quality University Extended Site Telecourses) program by which courses are videotaped and mailed to students.
The M.S.A.E. degree can be earned by coursework only or by a combination of coursework and approved thesis work.
Most QUEST students elect to complete the coursework degree option, whereas most on-campus students supported on assistantships are expected to complete an approved thesis on a research topic. However, QUEST and on-site students may select either option with the consultation of their advisor and graduate program director.
The M.S.A.E. degree program offered at The University of Alabama places an emphasis on three areas of specialization of the aerospace engineering field: (a) flight dynamics, simulation, and controls, (b) flight vehicle structures and materials, and (c) aerodymanics and propulsion. A wide selection of courses is offered in these areas, and courses are offered in additional areas of aerospace engineering as faculty expertise and availability allows.
