'' Course covers the definition of a process and the benefits of process improvement. It covers the steps in improving the quality of manufacturing processes;(1)Beginning: understanding the process, identifying owners, voice of the customer analysis, adjusting to meet customer expectations,process analysis worksheet;(2)Mapping the Process: selection of most significant issue, selecting team, identifying demands/bottlenecks/time consumers, process vs. organizational mapping, developing "as is" maps;(3) Assessing "As Is" Conditions for Improvements: baseline cycle time and costs, scientific methodology, effective problem solving, targets of improvement, case studies;(4) Developing the Solution: re-engineer- ing, clean sheet approach, question everything, simplify for success, documenting the process, developing impleme ntation plan, obtaining approval;and (5)Implementing the Process Change: overcom- ing roadblocks, selling concepts-timing and approach. . ...''
