Target Market The course is directed for those seeking employment as medical receptionists/secretaries, anyone who is involved with medico-legal matters and for the general public.
Course Structure The course includes the following: �Introduction; �Background to general medical terms; �Word roots; prefixes, suffixes; �Common illnesses, brief overview of common surgical techniques, and medical categories, based on the human body systems
Systems Covered o Organisation of the Body o The Integumentary System o The Musculosketal System o The Nervous System o The Blood and Lymphatic Systems o The Cardiovascular System o The Respiratory System o The Digestive System o The Endocrine System o The Urinary System o The Male Reproductive System o The Female reproductive System o The Special Sense The teaching strategies include �A number of different learning modes are used including; discussions, lecture, video and group activities �Participants are given course notes relevant to the material covered in each class.
Text Each participant receives his or her own comprehensive 150-page Medical Terminology workbook.
