'' This course is to acquaint participants with word roots, construction and meaning of commonly used medical terms and the ability to understand, use and adapt the terms correctly. You will gain practical experience by assembling lists of medical terms and their meanings in all categories and modalities of medicine.

Course Objectives
�To acquaint participants with word roots, construction and meaning of commonly used medical terms;
�To give a brief outline of physiology, to be able to understand, use and adapt the terms correctly;
�Gain practical experience by assembling lists of medical terms and their meanings in all categories and modalities of medicine.

Target Market
The course is directed for those seeking employment as medical receptionists/secretaries, anyone who is involved with medico-legal matters and for the general public.

Course Structure
The course includes the following:
�Introduction;
�Background to general medical terms;
�Word roots; prefixes, suffixes;
�Common illnesses, brief overview of common surgical techniques, and medical categories, based on the human body systems

The teaching strategies include
