Meanwhile, some basic latest information is given below.

The School of Chinese Language (Zhong Wen Xue Xiao) was inaugurated by His Excellency, the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kolkata on 16th July, 2008.

The following Courses are currently offered:

A. Express (Sucheng Kecheng) - 35 Sessions of 2 hours each, about 4 months - very basic, limited and frequently used vocabulary/sentences, mainly conversational

B. Intensive (Qianghua Kecheng) 1/2/3 years, 104 Sessions of 2 hours each every year - comprehensive teaching with stress on grammar, stroke orders and character writing, reading and speaking. A dedicated Intensive Course student would be fully conversant with Mandarin within 3 years, acheiving a certain level of proficiency after each completed year.

Classes are held at Sunny Park in Ballygunge, in airconditioned comfort. Audio-video aids and authentic assistance by Chinese teachers is provided, together with study material. Stress is laid on correct phonetics.

The School offers individual attention with a Teacher:Student ratio of 1:15.

After successful completion of the relevant Course, The School issues its Certificate.

The current fee is Rs. 200 per Session of two hours (non-refundable). The Course Fee includes study material and is payable in advance on a quarterly basis.

Admissions are open to the Express Class of February09 which commences on Friday, February 27th, 2009. This would be held on Wednesdays & Fridays, from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm. The total number of sessions would be 35 each of 2 hours, and which would be completed in about 4 months.

We propose to start our next Intensive Class of February09, precise dates, days and timings for which would be finalised shortly. We also propose to start, additionally, an Express-Business Class of about 5 months duration, containing 45 Sessions and an Express-Flexible Class of about 5.5 months duration, containing 50 classes.

Meantime, we may suggest you register your interest with us for your chosen Course as we shall be able to admit only 15 students to the forthcoming classes.

Once advised, Application Forms would have to be completed at The School’s office at 11/1 Sunny Park, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs. 250.

We are sure you are aware that Chinese is not a very easy language to master although it is the most widely spoken language on earth.

Therefore practice and dedication would be a very important part of the learning process and would ensure the language becomes easy to learn.
