'' Study and practice of good writing. Topics derived from a variety of personal, academic and public subjects. Students learn to evaluate complex material; revise and discuss essays of other students in terms of responsiveness, thesis, development, unity and presentation; and revise their own writing at both the macro level (i.e., content and organization) and the micro level (i.e., paragraph and sentence issues). ...''
