'' The ability of an organization to capture, store, retrieve, organize, and analyze information in meaningful ways can make the difference between success and failure in today�competitive economy. Demand for information professionals with training and experience in database design, development and administration has been intense in recent years, and is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.

The Database Management Certificate Program is designed primarily for individuals preparing for careers in database design, development and administration. This program may also be appropriate for individuals in other disciplines who wish to gain an understanding of database management issues, technologies and administrative practices.

Program Benefits

This nine-month certificate program provides a broad introduction to database management technology, database design, development and implementation, and database administration.

The program emphasizes general principles, rather than specific database products or vendor philosophies.

Offered in two formats, participants may choose the flexible online program or the face-to-face onsite version.

The program provides a forum for the exchange of ideas with instructors, guest lecturers and other students, and opportunities to establish new professional relationships in the database management community.

Participants earn nine Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and a UW certificate upon completion of the program.

The first course, Database Management Fundamentals, is also approved by the Department of Urban Design and Planning as a prerequisite for that department’s degree in Strategic Planning in Critical Infrastructure ...''
