'' This program is specifically designed for artists and illustrators who create visual materials that enhance the understanding of science, and for scientists to add visual illustration and art skills to their expertise. You learn a variety of illustrative techniques to produce detailed biological, physical, wildlife and botanical renderings. Scientific principles that serve as the underpinning for illustration are emphasized. Techniques such as carbon dust, color pencil and stipple pen and ink are studied. Field trips to Woodland Park Zoo and the Seattle Aquarium are included. By the conclusion of the program, you create a portfolio of illustrations suitable for publication or educational exhibits. ...''
