'' The phlebotomy certificate provides students with the knowledge and skill to be able to obtain blood samples for medical tests accurately and safely. Graduates of the phlebotomy certificate will be able to become nationally certified.
Get a Great Job Individuals with skill in accurately obtaining blood samples are in high demand in hospitals, clinics, physicianę?offices, blood banks and research facilties. Full-time phlebotomists in the Midwest averaged $23,504 in 2003.
Admission Requirements Entering students must have a high school diploma. Previous college courses and work experience are helpful but not required.
Graduation Requirements Before enrolling in CLLS 191, students must complete all other courses in the certificate program with a grade of C or better. Ferris will find you an internship when you become eligible, although due to limited space, specific clinical site locations cannot be guaranteed. If a student interrupts progression in the professional sequence of the program, re-entry cannot be guaranteed due to space limitations in laboratory and clinical placement sites.
To obtain a certificate, you must successfully complete all five courses with a minimum grade of C. All courses in this certificate EXCEPT CLLS 191 apply toward either the bachelors degree in Medical Technology or the associate in applied science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology at Ferris State University. ...''
