Course Description:
'' Poetry can be found in the most mundane lives. Overheard conversation, the turn of a phrase, the sound of a word, an image that sticks in your mind, routine chores, coincidences and odd juxtapositions can all be transformed into poems. In this writing workshop you’ll learn to view your life through the eyes of a poet as you listen to the work of other writers and respond with poems drawn from your own experiences. You will have an opportunity to generate new work, experiment with different forms, learn how to revise your drafts, and find out about reading and publishing opportunities. Whether you’re a poet and you know it, or a beginning writer, this workshop will instill an appreciation for poetry and a greater understanding of what makes words on a page into a poem.
