Music Therapy (Bachelor Degree)

William Carey College is accredited by the American Music Therapy Association and offers one of only two music therapy programs in Mississippi. Through the strong support of the medical and educational community in south Mississippi, students receive more extensive field experience than many larger schools offer. The music therapy degree requires four years of course work followed by a six-month internship leading to eligibility to sit for the national exam leading to certification.

Piano (Bachelor Degree)

The Bachelor of Music in performance is offered in the areas of voice, piano, organ, and guitar. Courses are offered in literature and pedagogy, preparing students for graduate study and teaching careers.

MSN (Master Degree)

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program was developed on the faculty’s belief that graduate education advances professional nursing practice and health care delivery by building on the existing foundation of baccalaureate nursing education. The mission of the School of Nursing is to prepare professional nurses for entry-level positions in either academic or healthcare institutional settings.

RN to BSN (Bachelor Degree)

Registered nurses wishing to pursue a baccalaureate degree in nursing may complete the nursing component within 12 months at William Carey University. In order to meet the needs of the working registered nurse, courses are offered in an online format requiring three on campus Saturday class meetings per term. The program consists of 79 hours of prerequisite courses and 21 hours of upper division course work. The student will be awarded 31 hours of credit applicable toward the degree requirements for current RN licensure.

MBA (Master Degree)

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program is available on the Hattiesburg and Tradition campuses.

The university operates on a trimester system over its academic year. The first trimester begins in August with MBA classes meeting for ten weeks followed by an exam week. The second trimester begins in November, and the third trimester begins in February. A full summer trimester is also offered starting in May.
