Although available to all Lewis University students, the newly implemented minor in music technology is an innovative option to music merchandising majors interested in recording, software design, and electroacoustic composition. The music merchandising program also involves an internship experience, often at world class companies such as the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Through the integration of diverse disciplines in art, design, business, computers, and the liberal arts, the Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Merchandising and Design reach beyond specialized professional skills to a broader spectrum of knowledge.

The Associate of Arts degree requires a minimum of 60 semester credit hours for degree completion. Students can specialize in one of the fields of fashion design, interior design, graphic design, or merchandise marketing. Full-time students can graduate 16 months after entering the Associate of Arts degree program.

The Bachelor of Arts degree requires completion of the Associate of Arts degree plus 60 semester credit hours at the baccalaureate level for a total of 120 semester credit hours. Students can specialize in either fashion design, interior design, merchandise management, or visual communication.

The curriculum promotes a well-rounded perspective of the world in general and the fields of merchandising and design in particular.
